Chasing Signatures Is Not a Good Use of Your Life
Chasing signatures isn't coaching. Here's how to make contracts a two-minute, protected step.
Let's talk about contracts, because this is one of those things coaches either ignore completely or handle in the most painful way possible, and both are costing you.
First, if you're coaching without contracts, stop reading and go fix that. A contract protects you, sets expectations, and makes you look like a real business instead of a hobby. It spells out what you deliver, what you don't, your refund policy, and the commitment length. When a client tries to bail after two weeks and demand their money back, the contract is the difference between a clean conversation and a nightmare. A signed agreement gives both sides a shared record of the terms, the scope, and what to expect. You need them. Not sometimes. Always.
Now, for the coaches who do use contracts, here's the pain. You've got a Word doc or a PDF template somewhere. Every new client, you open it, change the name and the dates, export it, email it, and then wait. And wait. You follow up. They say they'll get to it. You send it again. They print it, sign it, take a photo, and text it back all crooked, or they never sign it at all and you've already started coaching them anyway, which means you have no protection. Then you have to find somewhere to store the signed copy so you can actually find it later, which usually means it lives in your email forever, impossible to find when you need it.
That whole process is a part-time job you didn't sign up for. Chasing signatures is not coaching. It generates zero results for your clients and eats hours of your month.
Peaked OS builds the entire contract flow into the platform. You generate the contract, the client signs it right there electronically, and it stores automatically, attached to their profile. No template hunting. No emailing PDFs. No crooked photos. No follow-up nagging. No wondering where the signed copy went. The client signs during onboarding as a natural step, and it's done and filed before their first workout.
The automatic storage piece matters more than people think. When you need a contract, you need it now, usually because something went sideways. A payment dispute, a refund request, a disagreement about what was promised. If your contracts are scattered across your email and your phone's photo roll, good luck finding the right one under pressure. When every signed contract lives on the client's profile in your platform, you pull it up in five seconds. That's peace of mind you don't appreciate until the day you need it.
There's also a speed benefit that directly affects your cash flow, which coaches rarely connect. When signing a contract is a slow, manual back-and-forth over email, it drags out the time between a client saying yes and actually starting, and every day of that delay is a day you're not getting paid and a day their excitement is cooling. When the contract is a quick electronic signature built right into onboarding, they sign in minutes and you're rolling immediately. The client goes from decided to committed to started in one smooth motion, which means you start collecting revenue sooner and you catch their motivation at its peak. A clunky contract process doesn't just cost you admin time, it literally slows down how fast you get paid and how fast the client gets going. Smooth signing tightens that whole window, which is good for your income and good for the client's momentum.
Here's the bigger point. Every minute you spend chasing signatures and hunting for PDFs is a minute you're not coaching, not selling, and not living your life. These are exactly the tasks a system should own. Contracts are non-negotiable for protecting your business, but managing them by hand is optional, and it's a bad option. Let the platform generate, sign, and store them. Get your hours back and get your protection at the same time. There's no reason to keep doing this the hard way.
