Your Leads Are Dying in Your DMs and You Don't Even Know It
If you can't say how many people asked about coaching this month, you have a lead flow problem, and it's costing you.
Let me ask you something. Right now, how many people have reached out about coaching in the last 30 days? Not a guess. The actual number. If you can't answer that in five seconds, you have a lead flow problem, and it's quietly costing you thousands of dollars a month. If you can't answer quickly, the first issue is visibility. You don't have one place to see who raised their hand, who needs a follow-up, and who's close to booking.
Here is what happens to most coaches. Someone comments on a post. You reply, they DM you, you have a good back and forth, and then life happens. They go quiet. You forget. Two weeks later you're scrolling and you see their name and think, "Oh no, I never followed up." By then they've signed with someone else. Not because that coach was better than you. Because that coach followed up and you didn't.
The problem isn't you. The problem is that your leads live in five different places. Instagram DMs, your text messages, a comment thread, an email, maybe a note in your phone. There is no single place where you can look and see every person who is interested in working with you and where they are in the conversation. So leads slip through the cracks, and you never even feel it happen. That's the worst part. A lost lead doesn't send you a notification.
This is exactly why I wanted a real CRM built into the coaching platform, not bolted on with some duct tape integration. Peaked OS gives you a built-in CRM pipeline where every lead is a card you can move through stages. New lead, in conversation, consult booked, closed. You open one screen and you see your entire sales pipeline. No more wondering who you forgot to text back.
When you can see every lead in one place, you start treating sales like the system it actually is. You know who needs a follow-up today. You know who went cold and needs a re-engagement message. You know your close rate because you can actually count. Coaching is a numbers game whether you like it or not, and you can't run the numbers if the numbers live in seven apps.
Here is what I want you to do. Stop treating lead follow-up as something you'll get to. Build it into a system. When someone shows interest, they go into your pipeline that same day. You give every lead a status and you move them forward on purpose. The coaches who win aren't always the best trainers. A lot of the time they're just the ones who followed up when everyone else forgot.
Let me be real about the money side of this, because that's what actually moves people to change. Say you get ten interested leads a month and you're closing three because seven of them slip through the cracks before you follow up. If a client is worth even a couple hundred dollars a month to you, and they stick around six months, each lost lead is over a thousand dollars gone. Seven of those a month is real money walking out the door because you didn't have a place to catch it. When you put those leads in a pipeline and close even two more a month, you're talking about thousands in additional monthly revenue from leads you were already generating. You don't need more traffic or more content to make that money. You just need to stop losing the interest you already have. That's the cheapest growth there is, and it's sitting right in front of you.
Your next client is probably already in your DMs. The question is whether you have a system to actually close them, or whether they're going to slip away like the last five did. Get your leads out of the DMs and into a pipeline. That one change will make you money this month.
